Convicting
I didn't want to go to church this morning...that is a fact, but we did and I am glad. The sermon today was about passing on faith to the next generation. Arnis, our preacher, spoke very candidly to us parents in the audience and reminded us that it is our responsibility to do this. In some ways, I think that Darryn and I have done well in teaching the girls to pray or reading them stories from their children's bible...but I think we have failed in leading by example. We don't take them to bible class enough, we don't go to chuch on Wednesday night, we need to prioritize life a little bit more. Thankfully, we were already thinking this, but the message this morning was convicting and I know we can do better for our kiddos. We love them too much to fail on this one.
Bedroom/Playroom Decor: Owls, birds, flowers and mushrooms!
So, you may have read about Darryn's shopping trip on Saturday night. Here are some of the things that were in his basket...a couple of bulletin boards to hang the girls artwork on in the playroom, decals for the walls in the girls room and play room, a new bed spread, sheets, etc for Kyleys bed, a new table for my living room...oh, and jellybeans!

Rockin out! (Kyley-style)
Kyley decided to give us a Rock-N-Roll concert after dinner tonight! She is also showing off her moves! (Better get her enrolled in the classes soon, huh?)
Kindergarten? Already?
Can you believe it is time for us to figure out which school Kyley will go to for Kindergarten? Darryn and I went to look at one school today (the school that serves our address) and show our proof of residency to register her for school next fall! Now, the school system here is just crazy... there are about 12 schools that serve our area and we can pick and rank 4 of them according to preference. We can then also choose from 2 additional Magnet or "Traditional" schools in the district. (That is a total of 6.) Then there is a system that the school district uses to assign you to a school.
Its been an overwhelming process for me and I don't feel like we know enough to make a decision, but I have really been looking into this since I visited Louisville in November. I have read tons online trying to see how the various schools rank in the state and nation. I have read about the various programs each school has to offer. I have talked to "the parent's assistance center" on the phone. There is no way we can visit all the schools, especially with me just starting a new job and Darryn being in school, so we are trying to do the best we can possibly do.
We are going to tour a school on Friday and then turn in our preferred schools on the application. Please pray for a good decision!

Complaints
Now, I know most of you will say; "its your own fault for moving to Kentucky!" But I would like to take a few minutes to complain about things that we dont have out here! Newest addition to the list is spicy enchilada sauce. I tried to make enchiladas last night and they were just gross. SO...D and I lived on Chuys chips and salsa instead.
Also, at this very minute, Darryn is having to watch the Texas Basketball game on his computer because it isn't on tv here.
And finally, we don't have warm weather anymore! High in the mid-50s today, but got down into the 30s overnight last night. Boo!

Not-a-lot-a
Well folks, we don't have much to report tonight. It was a beautiful 70 degrees when I picked up the girls today. I didn't take 'em to the park though...we came home an started the laundry marathon! Poor Darryn had class until 6 pm on a Friday night! Felt bad for him! Now we are watching Phineas & Ferb, our all-time favorite cartoon! Maybe we will have something more to report tomorrow!

An early spring in L'ville
Who would believe there were lows in the teens just a few days ago? Today it almost hit 70 degrees! I went into work early this morning so that I could leave and pick up my little girls-who have seriously been suffering from cabin fever!
We came home and let me change out of my heels- which you may be impressed to hear I have worn to work 3 out of 4 days this week! We got out the wagon and the scooter and walked the 3 blocks or so to the St Matthews park, where we ran and played and swinged (or is it swang??? hmmm...Mom, please advise here!) We had a great time and didn't want to leave, but the wind gusts were ridiculous, so it was a must!
Now inside and fed... here is what is happening...
Molly refused to have her picture taken!

Tangled
So, for whatever reason I couldn't post both pictures in the same post... so, this is a picture of Repunzel-- not anatomically correct folks, those are the sleeves of her pricess gown! And that is the tower on the left! Very Impressive again!
A little artist in the making
Here is a picture that Kyley-bug brought home from school today! Aren't you impressed with the fact that you probably were able to tell it was a dinosaur without the caption? Now granted that was a stencil, but what about those flowers, bushes, gras and trees??? Pretty impressive, huh? I am very proud of how good her pictures are looking lately!

I'm inspired
I am thinking that if Chase can do this...I can do this. (He didn't even know what a blog was a week ago.) Now to figure out how to upload photos!
