What's it like?

Many people ask me how I am feeling or tell me they are worried about me now that we know about there being 2 little ones growing... and I will tell you, this pregnancy has certainly been alot different than the previous two.  I am much more emotional, I am already swelling at 20-weeks, and most of the other symptoms have been more intense.  But I am still feeling good over all... I have to rest more, I don't walk as fast, and I can't keep up with the family on the days I join them on our family walks (which isn't often).  I feel pretty exhausted after cooking dinner or giving the girls a shower.

Darryn has been a huge support and has taken over most of the household chores.  I help as much as I can, but he is really carrying the load around here.  He has also been working slowly at packing our house to move us next week.  He is the girls playmate too. Not to mention this is the most difficult didactic semester of his PhD program.

All in all, we are all hanging in there, knowing it will get harder before it gets easier, but feeling very blessed the entire time!  Keep praying for our health, studies, sanity and endurance.

20 weeks...

I have had several people request a Belly shot... I've never taken a belly picture before and I had alot of trouble getting a clear picture, but here you go!  The twins at 20-weeks (halfway or less) there!  I look and feel like I am about 30 weeks- and the hormones, back pain, swelling, heartburn definitely indicate that there is something different going on this time around.

Darryn and I still have "Holy Cow" moments... when we are still shocked that there are TWO babies on their way!  But mostly, we are excited.  We are working on finializing baby names, thinking about how we might decorate the nursery for a boy and a girl, and trying to decide what else we need to buy.  We defnitely feel out of practice.

Other August FUN!

Texas Trip 2011

We spent alot of time driving while we were in Texas... we hit all the major cities, like Houston, Austin, San Antonio (and Seguin) and DFW...

At Meme andPapaG's House, we love ending the night in Papa's chair... after a bedtime snack, of course!!

Then we fell asleep...

We went to Sea World!

And we hung out with Uncle B in Austin!

Kyley goes to school

Kyley started Kindergarten August 17th... she was supposed to start on the 15th, but due to bad weather in Kentucky which knocked the power out across town (but luckily not for more than 30 minutes at out house)... the start date was delayed.  She got to stay home with her dadd for a couple of days before school started.  I think she felt pretty big!

You may or may not know, but about the time we found out about the TWINS... (which amazingly I haven't posted about ever!) we also found out that our landlord is selling the house that we are staying in... SO we also have to move.  We were able to find another house to rent, but due to its location, we thought Kyley would have to change schools (for the 3rd time since we moved here).   BUT SHE DOESN"T...until next year!  We are very happy about this!

1st week of summer

Well last week was achange of pace for us...or at lease a change of routine.  Kyley is no longer going to daycare, we have enrolled her in YMCA Summer Camps for each week of the Summer.  Last week was Go Green Week--- not really sure that they did much around that theme, but seems like they had fun.  Next week starts Animal Adventure Week...they will take a field trip to the zoo!

Molly had a tought time at drop-off for school since Kyley wasn't with her.  There were tears shed and her mom and teachers had to give her extra hugs.  She is just so used to having her big sister around.

Molly started Gym&Swim with her school friends... basically  the class walks to the Y and plays in the gym and then take a 45-minute swim lesson.  Molly is only 1 out 3 that were put in the advanced toddlers class!  She even jumped in from the side without a float.  Her teachers were really impressed.

This week at school, Molly is having a Father's Day picnic with her Dad.  They are both looking forward to it.

Our evenings are spent taking a family walk in the park near our house.  Darryn walks the dogs and the girls ride their bikes.  They are both getting so fast!  I'll try to get some pictures of that soon!

Molly wrapped up post-bath time

I just thought these were too much fun not to share!

Our first trip to Calypso Cove- the YMCA Waterpark!

Calypso Cove is an awesome waterpark at the YMCA by our house.  IT has ahuge playscape for young kids, 2 large water slides for the big kids, a Vortex (reminds me of the lazy river at White Water, and much much more.  We went out there on Friday night after work/school/camp andstayed for about 2 hours.  The girls had TONS of fun as I think you can see!

Water guns!

It was humid enough to make the lens fog up!

Molly really doesn't like to be hit with the water

But she loved holding Daddy's big water gun!

The bucket is the girls refill station

The chase is on!

First sleepover at our house!

Cameron came over tonight for our first sleepover.  We went out for dinner and ice cream... right now we are playing in the basement...I think a movie will start soon to settle us down for bedtime...

Kentucky Oaks...like Christmas in Kentucky!

This is Jamie, my co-worker, and his wife Whitney on their way to Kentucky Oaks.  Oaks Day is like Christmas in Louisville...its the Derby before the Derby.  There were n't many people at work today because they were all getting ready to head out to Churchill Downs.  Apparently Kentucky Oaks is the Derby that most of the Louisville natives attend.  Sounds like it is quite an event and party.  I love the hats!
